Citizen McCain

John McCain haalde afgelopen donderdag flink uit naar zijn eigen partij. Over de Republikeinse standpunten over milieu en minderheden zei McCain: " I believe my party has gone astray.''
Daarop prees hij de Democratische partij: "I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy. But I also feel the Republican Party can be brought back to the principles I articulated before.''
De senator uit Arizona had ook zware kritiek over voor president Bush, vooral over zijn Irak-beleid: " You can't fly in on an aircraft carrier and declare victory and have the deaths continue. You can't do that.'' McCain pleitte voor meer samenwerking met de Verenigde Naties in Irak.
