Het concert in Hollywood dat was georganiseerd voor John Kerry's campagnekas heeft zijn doel bereikt: vijf miljoen dollar kon worden bijgeschreven. Billy Crystal, de komiek die ook bekend is door het aan elkaar praten van de uitreikingen tijdens de Oscar-festiviteiten noemde het concert "Woodstock for really, really rich people"

De zaal vond het heel leuk. Maar de zaal zat dan ook vol met al haar Democratische vrienden en vriendinnen, dus dat lag een beetje voor de hand. Dan was Billy Crystal leuker, over John Kerry: "People say he doesn't smile, he's not happy enough. I kid him a little bit. I said, 'Listen, you're the front-runner, the polls are up, you've raised $200 million. If you're having a good time, tell your face.'" Vooral Teresa Heinz Kerry kwam hierna niet meer bij van het lachen. De verwachting is dat hetzelfde aardige bedrag van rond de 5 miljoen wordt ingezameld bij het concert in New York, begin juli.
